Tom wants to get Katie back in shape
May 2, 2006

Tom Cruise is reportedly pushing fiancée Katie Holmes through a gruelling fitness regime - to get her fit for their wedding.

The Mission: Impossible III actor has allegedly signed his fiancée up to a "Buff Brides" exercise course to help her shed about 18kg before their upcoming nuptials.

Katie, 27, who gave birth to the couple's daughter Suri just two weeks ago, is said to be "proud' of Tom's determination to get her fit.

However, Tom's efforts have failed to impress Katie's father Martin, who has blasted his future son-in-law for pushing the Dawson's Creek actress to get in shape so soon after childbirth.

He told Britain's Reveal magazine: "My daughter needs rest, relaxation, and recuperation.

"Katie is already doing exercises to build up her back and shoulders and I simply can't go along with what's happening."

But the brunette's personal trainers have full confidence in her pre-wedding mission.

Fitness guru Brad Kaufman, who trains Katie, said: "She has great
motivation. The wedding is on the fast track. We've been told to get Katie into amazing shape. It's all systems go."
