Natalie Portman will play Indiana Jones' daughter in the fourth and final movie.
The Garden State actress is close friends with director George Lucas - whom she worked with on the three Star Wars prequels - and the veteran movie-maker has cast her alongside Harrison Ford, who is reprising his role as the daredevil archaeologist.
The news was accidentally revealed by Karen Allen, who played Jones' love interest Marion Ravenwood in the first film, Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Arc, during a recent question and answer session with fans.
She said: "I just heard Natalie Portman was cast as Indy's daughter."
A witness claims the actress then immediately changed the subject,
desperately trying to cover up her slip of the tongue.
Allen remained coy about her own involvement in the movie, however, rumours are rife she will make an appearance in the movie.
Other actors linked to the project include Jack Gyllenhaal and Sean Connery, who is expected to reprise his role as Jones' father. - Bang Showbiz
