Amy's husband says no thanks to help
September 23, 2008

Amy Winehouse's husband has decided to remain in prison rather than enter rehab.

Blake Fielder-Civil - who is currently serving a 27-month sentence for grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice - rejected the opportunity to reduce his incarceration by two months if he received treatment for his drug problems.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "This will be another blow for Amy. Blake could have gone to rehab to detox but he would rather see out his sentence in prison. All he wants is a free reign when he leaves, which means living with Amy.

"But if he is turning down these chances to leave jail and get clean, it doesn't bode well for him and Amy when he does finally get out."

It has been claimed the UK Prison Service are concerned Blake will return to a life of crime and drug abuse if he does not enter a treatment facility.

Last week, it was revealed Blake elected to remain at Suffolk's Edmunds Hill prison rather than be forced to live with his mother in Nottinghamshire under a 7pm curfew and wear an electronic tag.

The 26-year-old was adamant he would not consider leaving jail unless he could return to the home he shares with Amy in Camden, North London.
