It is a shame to see John Travolta (once really cool) and Robin Williams (once genuinely funny) reduced to this level of cheesy drivel that might be the worst film of their careers.
Fun-loving bachelor Charlie (Travolta) and divorcée Dan (Williams) are best friends and colleagues who find their lives of singledom complicated with the arrival of two children.
Dan's ex-wife Vicki (Preston is Travolta's real wife) has to go to jail and she introduces him to his seven-year-old twins, whom he must now look after.
Travolta's daughter, Ella Bleu, plays one of the twins.
This premise is meant to result in "hilarious" situations, which see Dan trying to be a father and juggle his work life.
The film acknowledges and pokes fun at how "over-the-hill" Travolta and Williams are, complete with a prescription pill mix-up and a tired joke of being mistaken for grandfathers.
It is saturated with musical cues and relies often on slapstick humour. But seeing Travolta smile for 10 minutes straight is just scary.
There is no excuse for such mediocrity. With the soaring price of movie tickets, it is a rip-off.
