Tusshar Kapoor's gravitation towards B-grade rom-coms hasn't gone amiss with critics. But with his poor film choices not impacting negatively on his fan- base, he doesn't seem to mind the denigration. On a high over his last offering, Life Partner, Kapoor is already drumming up hype around his next film.
In a chat with Bollywood Hungama, he said: "My next release will be Run Bhola Run, which is directed by Neeraj Vora. My co-stars are Govinda, Ameesha and Celina Jaitley. The film is releasing on January 22."
Aside from the comedy, Kapoor revealed that he is working with Sagar Ballary (Bheja Fry) in Shor, a film that is to be produced by Balaji Motion Pictures.
"It's an edgy thriller, with an ensemble cast. The film will be co-directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (of 99 fame).
"And after March, Golmaal 3, which I am very excited about, goes on the floors."
On a personal front, Kapoor recently purchased a flat close to the home of his veteran actor dad, Jeetendra, in Juhu.
He smiled when asked about his new pad, saying: "Yes, I have got a new flat for myself, but I am not moving in permanently.
"It's just a few blocks away from my dad's place . This will allow me time to have a blast with my friends."
While Shilpa Shetty was the epitome of grace during her spell on UK's Celebrity Big Brother show, her little sister Shamita was out of her element in the Indian version, Bigg Boss.
After recently exiting the house, she found herself terribly disoriented. Besides digesting the news that Shilpa will soon be tying the knot, she is still reeling from the cattiness she experienced while a housemate in Bigg Boss.
"The first thing I did on coming out was to snatch someone's phone and call my sister. In the 7 to 8 minutes that I spoke to her, I wanted to know everything. I ended up getting more confused, though. The month away from reality feels like a lifetime. I went through the strangest of experiences where I was thrown into situations like bickering over basic food. I need to discuss everything with my sister before her wedding, otherwise I'm going to burst," she shared.
In case you are wondering, Shetty chose voluntary eviction after getting wind of Shilpa's wedding from Pravesh Rana, a wild-card arrival.
"I was the last person to know about my sister's engagement and wedding. That in itself was upsetting. But I can't hold it against her - she's marrying the most wonderful man. I'm happy for her."
Meanwhile, her dad is ecstatic to have her home, especially given the weight she lost while on the Bigg Boss diet of potatoes and rice.
Nikhil Advani is working frantically to find a teen actor to play 17-year-old Akshay Kumar in his forthcoming film, Patiala House.
Right now, a national hunt has begun in India for the lucky aspiring actor.
It should be concluded by December 15 with the final choice vesting with Advani and Kumar.
The film will be shot extensively in Southall, London, with Rishi Kapoor as patriarch Gurkreeat Singh. Other stars in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, starlet Anushka Sharma and Dimple Kapadia.
Bollywood is too small and nepotistic an industry for off-screen squabbles to be kept under wraps. And that is why most actors play nice as well as play it up for the cameras.
The so-called beef between Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan has been written about ad nauseum. But SRK rubbished it, especially after pairing with Big B in Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Vivek Sharma's Bhoothnath. To fortify their camaraderie, Big B announced on his blog that SRK will be attending the premiere of Paa, which sees the veteran actor play a 12-year-old with a medical condition that sees him aging exceptionally fast. Think along the lines of Robin Williams in Jack.
He also wrote that Aamir Khan will be lending his support as well.
"And now for the bad news," he wrote. "The London and Dubai premieres stand cancelled.
"Several issues have cropped up and it would not be prudent to go ahead with it, under such uncertain pressures and circumstances. But the Mumbai premiere is on at the IMAX Wadala on December 3. Aamir and Shah Rukh have both assured me of their presence there."
HMM, Kareena Kapoor isn't impressed with beau Saif Ali Khan. That he is in the dog-house has been spreading like wildfire in Tinseltown. According to a report on SantaBanta.com, while at a recent press conference, Kapoor and Khan were locked in an SMS war. The incident was apparently witnessed by a cameraman of a Marathi news channel, who overheard her complain, "You were rude, Saif. I am hurt."
Of course, Khan knew better than to get on the wrong side of Kapoor and it wasn't long before he changed his tone.
By the way, don't forget to check the couple out in their latest film, Kurbaan.
