What do Condoleezza Rice, David Beckham and George Clooney have in common?

'Vanity Fair' names fashion icons
August 2, 2006

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's "renegade" fashion sense and "dominatrix boots" have earned her a spot on Vanity Fair's best dressed list alongside the likes of actress Renee Zellweger and Britain's Prince William.

The magazine this week unveiled its annual top 10 lists for best dressed men and women.

In addition to Rice, the women's list includes Oprah Winfrey, actress Selma Blair, filmmaker Sofia Coppola, rock singer Gwen Stefani and Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Monaco's Princess Caroline, and model Kate Moss who graces the cover of the September issue of the magazine.

Football star David Beckham made the men's top 10 list with American actor George Clooney, rapper Kanye West, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper and Prince Ernst August of Hanover, Caroline's husband.

The glossy named Rice for her "immaculately groomed" look "with an audacious renegade streak, not to mention her black knee-high dominatrix boots" . - Sapa-AFP and Sapa-AP
