Bow Wow for Big Brother finale?
November 25, 2009

By Munyaradzi Vomo

Once it was Bongo Maffin, then Shugasmaxx and Big Brother's entertainment guest list has only been growing bigger since.

We have had the likes of the hot Jamaican sisters, Brick n' Lace and the Somali-Canadian K'naan perform at the show's events in the recent past.

As we get closer to the end of this year's show, word on the street has it that the pint-sized rapper Bow Wow will close the show with a performance.

The Marco Polo rapper, who is Jermaine Dupri's prodigy, has a steady South African fan base but has never been here. Lets cross those fingers until they are numb in hope that the rumour is true.

Meanwhile, the most-recent evictee, Geraldine patriotically defends her country and alliance when quizzed about Nigeria's dominance in the house.

"We as Nigerians had a good game plan and belonged to a powerful alliance, that is why we survived for longer in the Big Brother house," she says.

Yeah right, she was one of the show's most immobile and mute contestants and yet more some people with spark had to leave before she did.

This brings us to the conclusion that there is more to the game than we are told. Though she has been voted out, Nigeria is still on the money with Kevin and Nkenna still in the house.

A law student back in Nigeria, Geraldine plans to resume her studies as soon as she gets back home. She also says she will keep herself busy with a book she is writing and guitar lessons that were initiated to her by Kaone.

"I plan to be the best at everything I do. The best lawyer, author and guitarist," she said.

Many would like to know what brought about the fallout between her and Itai and how bad it is.

"We do not hate each other as such, but it is just that we argued a lot more than we agreed and in most cases it was about nothing, or rather petty things," she says.

This rift saw her award the Molotov Cocktail to Itai without second thoughts. The cocktail will see Itai wear a chicken suit all week.

Unlike other recent evicted BB mates, Geraldine got to win herself a money pot worth $2 804 (about R19 600) which is not anything near to R200 000 but still a lot of money.

"I am going to to do bit of shopping and put aside some of it to invest," she says.

With her leaving the house are we seeing a possible weakening of the Nigerian power within the house?

Has her eviction created crevices within her alliance?

Since Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Malawi, Uganda and South Africa all showed more interest in Emma instead of her, are we to take it as a hint of the game taking a new direction?

Whatever the answers the remaining few weeks are going to be interesting should things continue this way.
