Oudtshoorn police are appealing to the public for information that could lead to the arrest of four men wanted for the rape and robbery of a 32-year-old man.

The man was on his way home when he was approached by another man at the bridge near Rosebank, Bongolethu in Oudtshoorn on September 5 at about 3.45pm.

“The man dragged the victim to the bridge and violated him. Three other men joined and robbed the victim of his personal belongings.

“A search for the four suspects is under way and members of the public are urged to come forward with any information,” said police spokesperson Christopher Spies. Police have since issued their identikits.

George police have also turned to the public to help them trace a man wanted over the rape of a 20-year-old woman in Thembalethu.

“It is alleged that on September 7 at about 10pm, the woman accompanied her friend home. On her return she was accosted by a man near Jonga High School, Zone 6, Thembalethu in George. The man, described as tall, forced her into the bushes along the gravel road where he assaulted the woman before he violated her.”
