R&B sensation SZA has joined the likes of Rihanna, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga in the beauty mogul hall of fame, introducing her highly anticipated beauty range, Not Beauty.

The “Snooze” singer took to Instagram to share the exciting news with her fans, revealing that her lip products, which she has been perfecting for years, are finally here.

In a reel posted on her Instagram, SZA captioned it: “Y’ALL ASKED FOR THE LIP COMBO AND IT'S FINALLY HERE !!! I REPEAT THE LIP PRODUCTS I'VE BEEN WEARING AND WORKING ON FOR YEARS ARE FINALLY HERE FOR EVERYONE TO TRY!!!”

“Not Beauty” will debut with lip gloss in three colours, “In The Flesh”, “Strawberry Jelly” and “Quartz”, which are each priced at $23 USD  (about R435 ZAR) and will be selling exclusively at pop-up shops during her "Grand National Tour" stops in the US with Kendrick Lamar.

Additionally, the full line-up of the brand will include lip stains, lip liners, and lip creams.

SZA’s Not Beauty brand promises to bring a fresh perspective to the beauty industry. As an artist renowned for her unique style and unapologetic attitude, the brand’s look reflects her personality and earthy aesthetic.

In an interview with Vogue, the 35-year-old singer also opened up about how she has been rocking her brand even before announcing it. One of the times was when she performed alongside rapper Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl halftime show.

“I’m not a beauty maven, but I know lips. I know what I like, and I’m diligent about finding the best quality ingredients,” she told Vogue.

With so many beauty brands by artists already out, the singer shed some light on what makes hers different from the rest.

“I wanted to fill a need with something that works for me and that I use daily. Following your passion and letting it lead you, and letting the story develop itself by following the throughline of risk, trust, and willingness is literally what my entire life and career have been about,” she added.

The singer-songwriter explained that the name of her brand serves as a reminder to herself not to simply copy other celebrity brands. She emphasised that her life philosophy centres on being free from pressure while still striving to do her best, and this is what she wants her brand to reflect.

She also revealed on one of her Instagram stories that she has been quietly using her own products way before she had packaging.

With her lip products now available, fans can get their hands on the same looks that SZA has been rocking on stage and in her music videos.

The launch of Not Beauty marks an exciting new chapter in SZA’s career, as she expands her creative endeavours beyond music. Fans who love her style will likely be drawn to her lip products.
