Musician Winnie Mashaba has been slammed for apparently using private aircraft to arrive in style at the home of the late gospel star Solly Moholo.
Mashaba sparked outrage on X and was described as tone deaf by some because Solly Moholo’s family had appealed for donations to the tune of over R700,000 to assist with the late star’s medical bills.
The netizens on X felt that Mashaba appeared to be “showing off” by arriving at the bereaved family’s home with a private plane when the deceased's family had struggled to cover medical bills for his brain surgery.
Mashaba had posted on X:
"My trip to Malome Solly Moholo’s home.
“When Mama saw me, she said, 'Ngwanaka, I'm happy you are here.' The spark in her eyes...
“As I shamelessly continue to mourn my mentor and father in the music industry, continue to rest in eternal peace," she wrote on X.

Solly Moholo, who was born Solomon Molokoane, died in hospital last week.
He had been hospitalized after falling ill following his pre album launch tour in Botswana.
Social media reactions
Followers quickly took to the comments section to call out the gospel singer for not reading the room.
"You could have chosen to show off your jet-set lifestyle at some other time. Some things we must pray over before we post. In what realm of this family’s challenges and grief did you think this was appropriate?" said @Fulunem on X.
"Before Solly Moholo sadly passed away, his family asked for donations for his emergency operation. Did you contribute?" asked @Mlando60870174.
Mashaba recently opened up about her sadness over Solly Moholo's passing during her tribute to him, sharing that he was her mentor when she was young and clueless about the ins and outs of the music industry.
