Veteran actress Thembi Nyandeni has been honoured with the Lifetime Shero Achievement Award at the 8th Gagasi Shero Awards.
Nyandeni who is currently on screens on SABC 1’s “Uzalo” is well-known to South African audiences for her role as Mkabayi Zungu on “Isibaya”.
The Gagasi FM SHERO Awards, which took place at the weekend, celebrate extraordinary women who push boundaries and excel in their different professions. This year the awards recognized women who have been making KwaZulu-Natal tick.
Nyandeni thanked the Gagasi FM Shero Awards for celebrating her as she was lost for words during an impromptu speech she made at the event.
In a post on Instagram, Gagasi FM celebrated the talented actress for her contribution to the industry.

Last year, Nyandeni at the 10th Simon “Mabhunu” Sabela Film and Television Awards won Best Supporting Act for her role as Njinji on SABC 1’s soapie “Uzalo”.
Her career began when she was 25 years old and has spanned over decades with her awards such as the SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award) Golden Horn for best actress in a TV Soap for her role on “Isibaya” and a Royalty Soapie Award for the same role.
