Esteemed journalist and broadcaster, Thulasizwe Simelane is set host the flagship breakfast show, 'The Morning Brief', on SAfm.
Known for his insightful reporting and engaging presence, listeners can look forward to hearing Simelane providing a distinctive blend of hard-hitting news and current affairs content, in-depth interviews, and vibrant conversations on SAfm weekdays between 06:00am and 09:00am starting on September 2.
Simelane left the media last year to take up a position as the spokesperson of the Takatso Aviation which tried to acquire the South African Airways before the deal collapsed.
In a statement released to the media, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) said it had made an exciting announcement of the show that is designed to keep listeners informed on national, continental, and international issues as they start their day.
With Simelane on front-line, the show promises to deliver compelling content that will help inform decision-making on various critical topics.
Radio Fortune Combo Business Manager, Anthony Soglo, expressed the station's excitement in welcoming Simelane to SAfm, emphasising the crucial role his style of delivering factual, and engaging content will play in growing the SAfm family.
"We are excited to welcome Mr Simelane to SAfm. He joins at a very exciting period in our country as we celebrate 30 years of democracy where his style of delivering factual, compelling and engaging content will be key to our audience as we continue to grow the SAfm family,” said Soglo.
Simelane also shared his enthusiasm for the new role, stating that he’s returning to broadcasting with a fresh perspective on life, South Africa, Africa, and the world.
“I feel my recent experience in the corporate sector, coupled with the professional growth journey I’m on, have sharpened me to better understand complex issues in politics, international relations, business and the law, but also to ask better questions of power brokers and wielders,” he said.
