Celebrated gospel artist Thinah Zungu has hopes and believe that his son Ndumiso, 11, will one day become a chart-topping performer in the industry.
In an interview with IOL, the award-winning artist, who is also known for his humorous social media posts about his double storey house, known as “istezi”, has tipped his son to be the next big thing in South African music.
“I am raising a future star here,” declared Zungu during an interview.
At just 11, Ndumiso is already making a name for himself in the music industry singing alongside his superstar father. The rising star has been performing with his father since he was nine years old.
Despite his young age, his father revealed that Ndumiso is determined to pursue music without compromising his education or childhood.
“I realised that there was something more in him and I decided to major in it in a more mannered way and showcase it to the people,” said Zungu.
Zungu further expressed his pride in his son's dedication, pointing out that Ndumiso is no ordinary child.
Ndumiso’s musical journey began when his father discovered his talent at church. Recognising his son's exceptional abilities, the artist made a decision to nurture and showcase Ndumiso's talent to the world.
Having done so, he has now for a period of about two years, performed with him around the country.
The Zungu father and son duo is set to perform during a live show in Empangeni this November.
“People will get the chance to experience me and my son singing together. Most of the events I attend, I’m always with Ndumiso and with this show, we will showcase even more,” said the artist.
This event, which is said to be a simple yet well-packaged show filled with worship and praise will be held on November 8 at the Umfolozi Casino, Empangeni. Tickets available at Computicket.
