Naledi Aphiwe Myongwane a rising star in the music world, has won the SoftnFree Afro Pop Artist of the Year award at the 2024 Basadi in Music Awards.
The Grade 12 learner from Khethokuhle Secondary School was awarded for her hit song “Ngiyabonga.”
The awards ceremony was held at the Johannesburg Theatre, where Naledi not only accepted her award but also performed, showing off her incredible talent.
Aphiwe first became famous with a viral singing video that caught the attention of music fans everywhere. Her fame grew even more when she appeared on Chris Brown's 11:11 album in 2023, which helped her gain more recognition in the music industry.

The Basadi in Music Awards celebrate the success of female artists, and this year, Naledi was recognised for her work in Afro Pop.

Aphiwe’s victory was met with widespread celebration on social media.
