The freshly-crowned winner of “Big Brother Mzansi” season 5 Sweet Guluva, is getting trolled on social media for asking for donations after taking home the R2 million grand prize.

Before entering the “Big Brother” house, Sweet Guluva, whose real name is Akhonamathemba Mbele, was a student at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, studying Business Information and Administration.

With only two years left to complete his qualification, he made the bold decision to leave CPUT and pursue the “Big Brother Mzansi” opportunity. After entering the house, he quickly became a fan favourite, garnering support from a big fanbase.

In an interview with "Independent Media Lifestyle" this week, Sweet Guluva, revealed that he's still in the process of figuring things out after his win. “I want to take the R2 million and turn it into something more,” he said.

Now, fresh from his victory, Sweet Guluva took to X to thank his fans for their support before announcing that he will be dropping his account details soon.

“I just want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your love, support, and votes. This journey wouldn't have been possible without you! I truly appreciate you all. Regarding donations, the correct details will be posted tomorrow morning. Please be cautious of potential scammers who may try to use my name for their own benefit. If it isn't posted on my official pages, it's not legitimate.”

The comment section was quickly flooded with reactions ranging from shock to amusement.

“This is the humble guy you guys spoke of 🤣🤣😭✋🏾 a man who speaks of donations a day after winning R2 million. Not even the bible talks about this kind of greed 😭” wrote @Tsakani_Manzini.

@Kgotsohopelekau added: “I want to believe that you have debts beyond measure because, DONATIONS?”

@Markosonke1 joked: “Big Brother gave you R2 million, and now you want Little Brothers and Sisters to top it up? Haaibo, at least let the bank balance breathe first!”
