With Venice now behind us, it's the perfect moment to reflect on the magnificence of it all—the whirlwind of art, philanthropy, and glamour that I had the privilege of being immersed in. There’s something uniquely special about being in the heart of the action, right at the center of such fervor, where creativity and purpose collide in the most spectacular way.
One of the most impactful aspects of my time there was being deeply involved with two incredible charities. The lasting effect of giving back is something that resonates profoundly with me, and it’s true what they say—there’s a far greater joy in giving than in receiving. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how philanthropy and the arts have become a natural blend, creating a home and community where I feel a deep connection. Merging the two has been nothing short of a beautifully gratifying experience.
One of the standout moments was the AmfAR gala, an event that once again elevated the African story, particularly through the lens of our national parks and the immense conservation efforts for the endangered rhino. Being part of that mission, and knowing I was able to effect some good in such an important cause, left me feeling truly fulfilled.
Another unforgettable experience was my audience with Richard Gere, Antonio Banderas, and others who share the same commitment to fighting for the greater good. These individuals have long inspired me, and standing beside them, knowing we are united by our common purpose, was an incredibly rewarding moment.
The Better World Fund Gala was another significant highlight. Once again, I had the chance to contribute to the auction and charity, this time by bringing the world of cricket and India to the spotlight. It was a special honour to address an audience that included icons like Susan Sarandon and Kevin Costner, both of whom I’ve admired throughout my life. To have them in attendance as I spoke felt surreal, a wonderfully humbling moment that I will always treasure.
Fashion was, of course, a part of the magic. I wore a custom-made couture piece—a true wearable work of art. The fact that it was completely sustainable and biodegradable made it even more special. It was not only a vision to behold but also an absolute hit. Walking the red carpet in such a remarkable piece, alongside my dear friend and renowned designer, Stephane Rolland, was nothing short of enchanting. After all, what’s Venice without fashion?
Another treat was being able to fully immerse myself in the arts during an unforgettable evening with Ellen Burstyn. Her wisdom, grace, and warmth filled my soul with admiration and love, making it a night that deeply moved and inspired me.
And, of course, the red carpet itself was pure magic. The glamour and charm were in full force as I walked in with Stephane Rolland by my side. The allure of Venice, combined with the fashion and the arts, created an unforgettable ambiance, a culmination of everything that makes these events so special.
Looking back, this journey through Venice was not only about the glamour and excitement but also about the meaningful connections and the opportunity to contribute to causes close to my heart. It was a testament to how the worlds of art, fashion, and philanthropy can beautifully intertwine, leaving a lasting impact on both the world and the soul.
