GENEVA MOTOR SHOW - More than just a flight of fancy, the Subaru VIZIV Concept foretells the design direction and technologies that will take the Japanese brand into the future.
Seriously, if this is what the Japanese brand calls style then we are really looking forward to the next generation of Subarus, providing they don't water these design cues down too much.
This crossover concept is also rather interesting beneath the surface, where Subaru has installed a boxer diesel hybrid powertrain with plug-in functionality.
It has electric motors at the front and rear ends that get the vehicle off the mark and keep it ticking over emissions-free during low-speed city driving, while the 2-litre flat-four diesel motor, linked to a Lineartronic CVT gearbox, provides the necessary oomph at higher speeds.
Furthermore, its independent-rear-motor-driven all-wheel drive system provides fine-tuned control of all four wheels that matches the given driving environment.
