Police in Limpopo have arrested a suspect following a stabbing incident that claimed the life of a 41-year-old man at a Saselamani bottle store on Saturday.
The incident, which occurred around 3pm on February 1, left a man dead after he was attacked with an unknown sharp object.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said police were summoned to the scene after the suspect stabbed a 41-year-old man with an unknown sharp object on the upper body, while they were at a bottle store.
When police arrived, they discovered the victim lying in a pool of blood, suffering from serious wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the man was pronounced dead on arrival.
The identity of the victim is being withheld as police continue their investigation.
“Circumstances surrounding the murder incident are still under police investigation,” said Ledwaba.
Law enforcement officials acted quickly, arresting the male suspect at the scene.
Ledwaba confirmed that the suspect will soon appear before the local Magistrate's Court for murder case.
Police investigations are ongoing.
