The Powerball jackpot for Tuesday night’s draws is an estimated R100 million.
In a statement released by National Lottery Ithuba, the “life-changing amount” could potentially transform the lives of the lucky participants and turn dreams into reality.
The Powerball jackpot has rolled over 16 consecutive times.
The Powerball Plus jackpot is estimated at R28 million after 10 consecutive roll-overs.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: "We are excited to see the PowerBall jackpot reach R100 million as this also bears testament to the growing popularity of PowerBall and the general enthusiasm of the National Lottery participants.“
Ithuba said that the draw will be broadcast on September 10 at 9pm on ETV.
Ithuba reminded players that all winnings are tax-free, players must be 18 years and older and winners who receive winnings of R50,000 and above receive free trauma counselling and financial advice at no cost.
Last month, one person walked away with the R100 million Lotto jackpot from the August 3, 2024 draw.
Ithuba said that the winner chose to remain anonymous but expressed her immense gratitude and excitement. The ticket was claimed after a few weeks
The R100 million jackpot, was won after 25 consecutive roll-overs and the winning ticket was purchased at Pick n’ Pay in Hazeldean Square in Pretoria.
Ithuba announced that a KwaZulu-Natal couple had bagged the Powerball Plus jackpot and one of the first things they plan on doing in securing a medical aid.
National Lottery Ithuba said the couple, both in their 60s, scooped R16,749,487.40 from the August 2, draw.
