Newly promoted Magesi FC picked up their first win of the new season when they beat Golden Arrows 1-0 in their Betway Premiership game at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.
The match kicked off on Wednesday evening, but was abandoned after a power outage with four minutes left of regulation time, and was later concluded on Thursday afternoon.
Having started their campaign with back-to-back defeats, the top flight’s new boys took on a confident Arrows outfit that had the perfect record, and would have gone to the top of the league had they won.

However, it was Clinton Larsen’s minnows from Limpopo that left the stadium happier after bagging all three points.
Arrows had the lions hare of the ball possession, as expected, but it was Magesi who fashioned more goalscoring opportunities in the ding-dong battle in Hammarsdale.
The league’s new boys were rewarded in the 79th minute when Wonderboy Makhubu found the back of the net to put the visitors 1-0 up.
However, with four minutes of regular time left on the clock, and Magesi holding on for dear life, the stadium went dark after a transformer caught fire, resulting in the game being called off.
The game eventually resumed at 12pm on Thursday afternoon, and Magesi were able to hold on to their slender lead to bag their first win of the season that saw them move out of the relegation zone.
