Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture Gayton McKenzie has thrown his weight behind the award-winning star Makhadzi as she gears up for her much-anticipated one-woman show scheduled for December 21 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Speaking with enthusiasm, McKenzie expressed his commitment to not only attending the concert but also purchasing 200 tickets for fans eager to join him in celebrating one of South Africa’s most prominent musical talents.

“I will be there and will buy 200 tickets for those that want to accompany me to Peter Mokaba, one of our biggest stars in the world,” he proclaimed on social media.

Makhadzi, who has been consistent in promoting the event, recently unveiled a diverse line-up of supporting artists expected to grace the stage alongside her.

Among the artists featured are Nkosazana Daughter, Kharishma, Lwa Ndlunkulu, Janesh & Abi Wa Mampela, Pleasure Tsa Manyalo, Sho Majozi, Malaika, and Zola 7, with more acts yet to be announced.

The singer took to social media, sharing her vision for the show, stating: “All I have in my mind is the image of people screaming my name at Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kindly, people, make my dream come true by just buying tickets via this link.”

The upcoming show was announced subsequently with her single, “We Are One”, where she embraces togetherness and compassion, further highlighting that she was inspired to bring more uplifting music.

One of her highlights this year is the release of her album “Miracle Child”, boasting tracks such as “Gokwani”, “Jealous Down”, “MaDlamini”, “Bafana”, “Nnana”, and “Mawaya Waya”, among many others.

Makhadzi has been on a winning streak this year, having recently claimed Dance Artist of the Year and the International Achievement Award at the Basadi In Music Awards.

She has also won numerous awards, SAMAs, Metro FM Music Awards, Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, and AFRIMA Awards. Most recently, she won the 2024 BET Award for Viewers Choice: Best New International Act, a testament to her global impact.
